Learn to Make Kitchari

Learn to make this Āyurvedic kitchen staple. Used for cleansing, in times of illness, or fasting, kitchari is a nourishing and simple meal that can become the basis of many balancing and healing dishes. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to make kitchari (and get to actually make it yourself if you wish!). We’ll talk about how to use kitchari for its greatest benefits as well as how to approach creating nourishing, balanced meals.

Sunday March 26th 3:30-5:00pm ET on Zoom. You’ll receive the Zoom link the morning of the workshop.

 

What We’ll Do:

In this workshop, we'll walk through the steps of making kitchari, from the ingredients and tools, to helpful tricks and troubleshooting while you cook the kitchari. You'll also learn the benefits of kitchari, when it's recommended to eat kitchari, and the basics of kitchari cleansing. We'll also explore how to use spices in a balanced, healing way. You'll walk away from this workshop confident in your ability to make this simple, nourishing dish!

What You’ll Need:

If you'd like to make kitchari live during the workshop, you'll need ingredients like:

  • White basmati rice
  • split mung beans
  • ghee
  • mineral salt
  • spices
  • a pot or pressure cooker

Making kitchari during the workshop is completely optional. A more detailed supply list will be sent after registration.
